Our Mission
Always Reddy Nutrition strives to provide weight-inclusive nutrition therapy, non-diet, trauma-informed care. It is important to create a safe space for individuals of all genders, shapes, and sizes.
Some of the topics we emphasize and explore during sessions and beyond is non-diet nutrition therapy, ADHD and neurodivergence, fat liberation, diet culture, intuitive eating, self-exploration, social justice concerns, and a Health at Every Size® philosophy.
We seek to provide individualized nutritional care since you are the expert on your own body.
Always Reddy Nutrition acknowledges that we hold a great deal of privilege in our society, the world, and in the outpatient nutrition counseling space. This is something that most should always be aware of. We will always strive to support our clients who hold identities that are marginalized and oppressed like folks that identity as fat, neurodivergent, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled clients.
Our Philosophy
For those with disordered eating or eating disorders, you deserve to heal your relationship with food and your body. Throughout our work together we will strive to provide you with empathetic and compassionate care, including collaborating with other providers on your eating disorder recovery team.
For families, parents of teenagers, etc. we'll provide the best individualized care for your teen and your family to ensure a collaborative approach in recovery and beyond.
Eating disorder treatment is very unique to the individual and other factors going on in life. Therefore, nutrition and treatment recommendations may change depending on where clients are at with their relationship with food and their bodies.
For neurodivergent folks it can feel hard to explore ones relationship with food and body since our brains function differently from other folks. We practice flexibility and curiosity with all clients as many of us also identify as neurodivergent.
We each have our own food and body story of how we got to where we are today, and together we can unpack yours and help you heal. Using the principles of weight inclusive care, principles of neurodivergent nutritional care, intuitive eating, we will help you reconnect and learn about your body’s preferences, rebuild your self-trust, and strive to re-establish a better relationship with yourself long term.
Through a judgment-free and honest space that focuses on self-compassion and curiosity, we can begin to understand the why's behind your food and body image thoughts and beliefs so you can truly understand what matters most to you and how to make things easier for you!
What is Neurodivergence/Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity describes the idea that folks experience and interact with the world around them in variety of different ways. It is important to note that there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving. Neurodivergent folks brains actually function differently then neurotypical folks which can make daily life activities look different. Some of the most common conditions neurodivergent folks have are ADHD, OCD, Autism, PTSD, BPD, and many more. To learn more about neurodiversity check out RDs for Neurodiversity.
What is Health at Every Size®?
It is a health framework that emphasizes that all bodies deserve respect and have the right to seek health without having to lose weight and change their body.
According to ASDAH “The Health At Every Size® Principles and Framework of Care seek to address the weight bias fat people face when seeking healthcare.”
To learn more about HAES® principles please check out ASDAH’s website linked below.
Get to Know Me:
I myself have struggled with my own body image issues and disordered eating. I also identify as neurodivergent.
One of the reasons I am so passionate about helping all clients heal their relationship with food. Growing up in our diet culture and fat phobic society is HARD and impacts people of all shapes and sizes. Throughout my life I have tried multiple diets with NO success. Soon after my last failed diet in college is when I discovered intuitive eating and weight neutral care for the first time. Since then I am very passionate in learning and educating about our fat phobic society, diet culture, lived experiences of people who identify as fat, and intuitive eating.
Other Fun Facts:
I have a bernadoodle, Ozzy, who has my whole heart and is a very goofy puppy.
My favorite way to unwind after a workday is to read a book and take a nice relaxing bath.
My most treasured hobbies are walking, swimming, or just laying/being outside in the sun.
